Brilid 0.1%

Composition

Brimonidine Tartrate 0.1% w/v + Benzalkonium Chloride 0.005% v/v

Description

Brilid 0.1% is a lower-concentration alpha-adrenergic receptor agonist used to lower intraocular pressure in patients with glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Brimonidine Tartrate works through a dual mechanism: it reduces the production of fluid in the eye and simultaneously increases the outflow of fluid through the uveoscleral pathway. By managing eye pressure, it helps protect the eyesight of patients at risk of nerve damage. The 0.1% concentration is often prescribed for patients who require effective pressure management with a lower dose to minimize potential systemic absorption or local irritation. Constant monitoring by an eye specialist is required during the course of this treatment
